Frequently asked questions

Where is the Crazy Archaeologist located?

He is found in the Ruins in the Wilderness, just south of the Forgotten Cemetery.

Is this boss dangerous for low levels?

As long as you dodge his 'Rain of Knowledge' attacks (the 3x3 explosive books), he is very manageable even for mid-level accounts.

What are the best drops?

Odium Shard 1 and Malediction Shard 1 are the primary goals for most players.

Do I need high-tier gear?

No, a simple Iban's staff and basic magic gear are more than enough for efficient kills.

How do you avoid PKers?

The area is in relatively low-level Wilderness, making it easy to teleport out with an Amulet of Glory or similar item.

Can you do this on a hardcore ironman?

We can, but please note there is always a non-zero risk in the Wilderness. We use the safest possible methods.
